Meet Amanda Sposato, LICSW, LCSW

Biography & Professional Experience

I’m Amanda Sposato, MSW, LICSW, LCSW (she/they), the founder and therapist of Eudaimonia Psychotherapy. My educational & professional experience is diverse. My undergraduate background contained coursework in biochemistry, neuroscience, and music prior to focusing on history and social inequality.

As a psychotherapist, my professional experience has spanned a wide variety of mental health care settings over the past 15 years, including adolescent respite, day treatment, adult inpatient psychiatric unit, sexual assault survivor advocacy, and wraparound care coordination. I’ve provided individual and group psychotherapy to individuals, families, adult families, adolescents, and traditional and non-traditional relationship structures since 2014.

I have been providing psychodynamic clinical supervision and consultation since 2019. I facilitate clinician consultation and peer groups around various clinical topical areas.

Additionally, I am an adjunct graduate professor in the Smith College School for Social Work.

Therapeutic Philosophy

I believe that every person makes sense in context. You might wonder why you often feel anxious, uneasy, or discontent. You might wonder why you respond or react to others or life events in the ways you do. I’d love to help you to cultivate a curious stance to better understand yourself in the fuller context of your life. I understand the sense of isolation that comes from feeling alienated from yourself or the ones who are most important to you. I want to help you improve your sense of connectedness with yourself, others, and the world around you, while also helping you to more flexibly engage with your wants and needs.

As a relational psychodynamic psychotherapist, my goal is to build a reliable, trusting, transparent therapeutic alliance with you where you can feel safe to explore those parts of yourself which are hidden, uncomfortable, or in pain. Together we can find new ways of responding to your emotions and the events of your life so you can build the life you want.

I am attuned to the need to build safety in our therapeutic dynamic so that we can begin exploring and understanding you-in-environment. I will work collaboratively with you to define your goals for flourishing and bring an eclectic, analytical, and dynamic presence to our sessions.
